When Karma Group set out to build a mobile app for its global Membership community, the brief wasn’t simply to digitise existing services. It was to unify an entire ecosystem – resort inventory across multiple continents, two of the world’s largest holiday exchange networks, a curated events programme, membership financials, points balances and real-time deals — into a single interface that felt, despite all of that complexity underneath, completely effortless to use. The result is Karma Subito, and the gap between what it does and how simple it feels to operate is where the real innovation lives.

What makes Subito genuinely innovative is less the technology itself than the ambition of what it connects. This is not a branded app that repackages information already available on a website. It is a live transactional engine that integrates Karma Group’s own global resort inventory with two of the world’s largest holiday exchange networks – RCI and ICE (Arrivia) – alongside the brand’s Karma Curated experiences programme, membership fee management, points balances, and a real-time Hot Deals feed, all within a single, smooth interface. The engineering challenge involved in unifying those previously disparate systems, each with its own architecture and logic, was considerable. The result feels effortless, which is precisely the point. That is real innovation.

The events integration is where Subito moves furthest from convention. Karma Curated – the brand’s portfolio of bespoke lifestyle experiences, from VIP access at Old Trafford to luxury cruises deep in the Maldives archipelago – can now be browsed and booked instantly within the app. This is the moment where a digital tool stops being administrative and starts being aspirational, where a Member scrolling at midnight can secure something genuinely extraordinary before the thought has fully formed. It collapses the distance between impulse and experience in a way that fundamentally changes the texture of membership.
The design reflects the same thinking. The glass morphism UI is visually premium without being slow — a deliberate rejection of the assumption that luxury aesthetics and high-speed performance are in tension. They aren’t, if you build it properly. A 4.7 App Store rating across a diverse international Membership base suggests that Karma has.

The downstream effects have been significant. A 40% increase in Member engagement. Meaningful reduction in routine Concierge traffic, freeing the human team for the complex and sensitive work that actually requires them. A 24/7 AI assistant handling the transactional baseline while the people handle everything else. The app hasn’t replaced the service culture – it has elevated it.

John Spence envisioned Subito as putting Members in the driver’s seat – but not only that. He saw it as making the Karmaverse feel accessible and navigable at any hour, from anywhere, on your own terms. For a brand built on the idea that the good life should be genuinely accessible to its community, that isn’t a feature. It’s the whole argument.
