The Club Wyndham magazine is a twice-yearly publication utilised by Club Wyndham South Pacific owners. One of these is both a print and digital copy and the other is strictly digital.
Club Wyndham provides a mix of travel inspiration and advice, resort news and updates, travel tips, exclusive deals, information about benefits and examples of how owners have effectively used their ownership. Recent editions of the magazine have included a story from an owner detailing their many vacations using their ownership, and a social media section showcasing the best owner posts. It also features “commercials” for add-on Lifestyle by Wyndham membership; Wishes by Wyndham, the club Developer’s philanthropic arm; and the Club Education team. The goal of the magazine is to help owners get the most out of their ownership, inform them of the latest news and drive bookings to featured resorts – which usually are properties with lower occupancy. The magazine is housed on the club website, clubwyndhamsp.com, where it could also conceivably be accessed by the public.
The club’s marketing team estimates that, over time, the publication is a source of inspiration behind around 133,000 room night reservations every year (or 26% of total reservations).
The magazine is digital and built using Shorthand. This platform enables owners to find information more easily and read the magazine in the order they choose. It also features video content and hyperlinks, which connect articles directly to relevant website pages – meaning readers can immediately book a Club Education session, make a reservation, look up further information or research. The magazine also conforms automatically to any size desktop, tablet or phone. While the system is not designed or owned by Club Wyndham, it is much more cost effective than building a platform from scratch. The link to the magazine is emailed out to more than 56,000 vacation owners.
The printed version of the magazine is mailed out to more than 10,000 owners who opt-in to receive it and is ordered for new sales kits and resort apartments, where they are read by guests.
Club Wyndham magazine provides a mix of travel inspiration and advice, resort news and updates, travel tips, exclusive deals, information about benefits and examples of how owners have effectively used their ownership. The latest issue embraces holidaying through the seasons and is designed to demonstrate to owners that they can enjoy incredible experiences outside peak season. It provides travel inspiration for out-of-season travels in locations like Dinner Plain, Port Douglas, Port Macquarie, Phillip Island and Rotorua. It also looks at the partnership between Club Wyndham and Australian celebrity chef Peter Kuruvita, accompanied by a map of culinary treasures in Australia and New Zealand; some owner stories; an introduction to the newest club resort in Manly Beach, Australia; and a story highlighting the experiences in Nagano, Japan, the location of another new resort. The issue finishes with a wrap of the latest refurbishments, offers from the associated Travel Club, information about the new Club Wyndham South Pacific app and a table of the club’s resort inventory.
Purpose: To inform club owners and help them get the most from their ownership. To that effect, content centres around travel inspiration and advice, resort news and updates, information about benefits, stories about owners who have used their ownership effectively, and “commercials” for add-on Lifestyle by Wyndham membership, the club Developer’s philanthropic arm and Owner Information team. It is also designed to drive bookings to properties where occupancy is lower and it does this by demonstrating the experiences that are on offer at these destinations and outside peak season.
The magazine is created in-house by the company’s Brand Communications team, so it has no hard labour cost. The editorial and design team spend an estimated 156 hours scheduling, writing, designing, editing and proofreading the publication. Developing the magazine using a professional studio would carry an estimated cost of US$10,736.
