Within the year 2020, Westgate Resorts exceeded its own expectations in defining what it means to be the best. The COVID-19 global pandemic affected the travel and hospitality industries exponentially, and Westgate Resorts was no exception. From the closures of our restaurants, retail stores, amenities, and entertainment venues across the country, as well as cutting back on the operations at all 24 of our resorts and hotels, our company experienced a devastating disruption that only a team of dedicated leaders and professionals could overcome. Thankfully, we are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of leaders and Team Members who have risen to this challenge.

Starting small in 1982 with a 16-unit resort at Westgate Vacation Villas Resort, Westgate now encompasses more than 14,500 villas at 24 beautiful resorts in premiere travel destinations throughout the United States, including, Miami, Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida, New York City, New York, Park City, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Williamsburg, Virginia, Branson, Missouri, and more.

Employing nearly 10,000 Team Members, Westgate Resorts has not only expanded into the largest privately held corporation in the Central Florida area but is the also largest privately held timeshare company in the world and one of the largest resort developers in the United States. However, our greatest achievement is the family dynamic we’ve built with our Team Members. Our compassionate and committed Team Members are Westgate’s greatest strength and we make it our goal to make our appreciation known, as well as offer incentives to on-coming hires that they too will receive recognition in their day-to-day work. Being that the health and safety of our team members are of the utmost importance, our WestgateCARES ensured that enhanced safety practices took place in all areas of work, including our resorts and hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, casinos, corporate offices, and other places of work. To promote social distancing, we also implemented a Work From Home schedule for a majority of our corporate teams so they were able to complete their duties with the reassurance that their employer truly cares about their health and wellness. For those unable to work from home, WestgateCARES always requires masks and gloves to be worn, hand-sanitizer stations were installed throughout our resorts and hotels, corporate offices, and other public spaces. The WestgateCARES enhanced health and safety program ensures that our Team Members and guests are safe while interacting and enjoying their day-to-day duties.

At Westgate Resorts, compensation and incentives are offered to our Team Members in a multitude of ways. We are proud to offer our teams the assistance of Daily Pay, a program where Team Members have access to their earnings every day and can immediately transfer their pay the same day they earn it. We also offer significant resort discounts for Team Members and their family and friends at all 27 of our resort and hotel locations, as well as company contents where Team Members have the chance to enter for a free vacation at several of our travel destinations. The financial stability of every team member is essential at Westgate, and our Westgate Foundation provides several avenues for assistance, including David’s Dollars, a program where Team Members are assisted financially for unforeseen life events and rent. The foundation also hosts annual school supplies and toy drives so that our Team Members can enjoy their holidays and back-to-school times without having to worry about the negative financial impact.
