Club Wyndham Flynns Beach is a mixed-use property in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, featuring both timeshare apartments and villas, and villas available to the general public. This year, a project to almost double the resort’s size was completed.

The AU$25 million development – which began in May 2019 – added 53 one to four-bedroom villas to the resort. Of these, 20 were designated as Deluxe, 25 as Grand and eight as Presidential with a standard of amenities, fixtures and fittings to match. The four-bedroom Presidential villas, the highest designation on property, were designed to be an unparalleled product in the region, featuring four spacious bedrooms, four bathrooms, full kitchen, laundry facilities, a private ground floor deck with outdoor spa and a large upper balcony, and superior fittings and finishes.

The villas are being progressively added to the portfolio of Club Wyndham South Pacific, a timeshare club in the Asia Pacific with close to 60,000 owners. Already, 22 of the villas are part of the club; 28 more have been made available to club owners on a temporary basis, while the rest are available to the general public.

The new inventory is almost booked out across the Australian summer period (December to February) and bookings are already strong into next year. This compares favourably to the average of 90% occupancy across the year the resort achieved prior to the development. Guests to the resort contributed an AU$20 million annually to the local community when the resort was 60 apartments and this is expected to increase now that the resort has 113 apartments and villas.

The development also featured a new restaurant and bar, Henry’s. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a diverse beverage menu that can be enjoyed poolside. Everything can be ordered in person or through a click-and-collect service.

As part of the project, a new games area, children’s pool, common area pavilions and car parking were also created, while the gym was refreshed and the reception area moved to another part of the property and remodeled. The resort already offered an outdoor pool, barbecue area, spa, children’s play area and table tennis.

Club Wyndham South Pacific has recently made a push to make resorts more all-inclusive by offering free activities to owners and their guests. Club Wyndham Flynns Beach offers guests complimentary hire of bicycles, e-bicycles, boogie boards, table tennis, fishing rods, board games and a variety of games like giant Yahtzee, giant noughts and crosses and giant Connect 4.

The new resort experience has been praised by travellers. In surveys conducted by Wyndham Destinations, the average guest rating since in 2021 was 8.79, which compares to 8.43 in 2019. Club Wyndham Flynns Beach currently enjoys a TripAdvisor rating of 4.
