As the pandemic has continued to evolve over the past two years, arrivia has continued to evolve right along with it to maintain and exceed the honor of BEST PLACE TO WORK. To ensure employees were 100% engaged upon their return to our NEW office environment, living healthy lifestyles, and receiving personal and professional development, the team enhanced our benefit programs, amenities, working environment and more.
After rebranding with a fresh new look to arrivia at the end of 2020, we found office space to fit the company’s new identity. To build excitement about the headquarters move, a series of progress emails were sent to employees throughout the process. Communications included photos of the construction work and new furniture, and postcards were mailed to their houses with the new office address and map. As the move-in date approached, the HR and marketing teams also created collateral to make employees feel welcome in their new space. Informative placemats and logo’d mousepads were created to share new lunch spots and amenities nearby. Our CEO also crafted a message that was placed on everyone’s desks when they arrived.
Our grand opening was July of 2021. When employees arrived for the first time, they were met with upbeat music and a smiling face who escorted them to a step n’ repeat background to have their photos taken to commemorate their first day. After making their way to their new workspace, a cart with fresh squeezed juices was rolled around offering energizing drinks for the big day. In the afternoon, employees enjoyed a special treat of cream puffs from a local vendor to sweeten up their day. A videographer and photographer captured the story resulting in a beautiful corporate video telling the story of life at arrivia.
Engaging employees in their new workspace was certainly not a one-day event. The team worked hard to ensure employees wanted to continue enjoying their workspace. Over the following months, interactive elements were added to the office including a “Cheers for your Peers” wall where employees could recognize coworkers with a quick write-up to pin on a giant cork wall. An inspiring travel photo wall was installed to show the many places our employees travel around the globe.
Additionally, with more and more employees re-entering the workplace for the first time in over a year, the benefits team saw a need to increase virtual resources, 2021 became the year of hybrid support programs. The team offered over 100 virtual programs with monthly topics ranging from mental health coping mechanisms to 401(k) investing.. The team also jumped into action to get employees physically healthier than ever. A state-of-the-art gym was constructed with top-of-the-line equipment, including an interactive TV with programs from spinning to strength training. Beyond physical health, they also recognized the need for a place where employees could decompress. So they installed an onsite wellness room where employees can relax in a zero gravity massage chair, or take advantage of a private place to take care of other needs such as nursing or taking medication.
In addition to these onsite amenities, the team also re-evaluated the company’s benefits offerings to ensure they were competitive in the marketplace. After careful review, it was determined that new benefits would be added to better support employees. These included:
• New Lifestyle Spending Accounts –reimbursing employees for purchasing made to improve their physical, financial, or emotional wellness.
• New Inclusive Family Benefits to aid employees on their path to parenthood including in vitro, surrogacy, and adoption assistance along with paid parental leave.
• Expansion of the company’s OMADA program assisting team members experiencing diabetes and hypertension.
• Additional company holidays to become a more inclusive organization and give team members more days off.
At the heart of all activities, the arrivia team focuses on employee health and wellness and has implemented its Vitality platform to help employees learn about wellness activities, evaluate their own progress towards goals and reward those who live healthy lifestyles. Options include:
• Online courses for topics such as COVID awareness and prevention, nutrition education, mental health education and more.
• Company lead Walking and workout challenges.
• Vital health checks to encourage employees to visit their doctors.
After completing all of these items, employees earn points that help them earn discounts on their health insurance premiums, and can be used to purchase items like fitness devices or gift cards.
Arrivia’s goal has always been to help employees live well and thrive. By implementing such a variety of programs and initiatives both virtually and in person, we have achieved just that.
